Digital Olsen Hardness Tester
HD-3030
The digital Olsen hardness tester is a standard constant load indentation hardness tester that is widely used for cosmetic testing applications such as foundation. The sample is pressed with a fixed load with a pressing ball having a predetermined spherical surface, the depth of the dent is read with a dial gauge, and the hardness of the test specimen is measured.
Depending on the specimen, loads from 453.5 g to 1360.5 g (1 to 3 lb) can be measured at different loads.
Since the pressing ball is raised and lowered by operating the handle, there is no personal error.
